Escape To God's Country--Part 5

And on the third day...

It rained some more.

"I don't feel like walking in the rain again today." I told Linda.

Who kissed me.

"Thank God," she said.

So we went for a drive in the country instead. Stopping in quaint little towns. Browsing through their antique and craft shops.

And eventually ended up in the little town of Port Carling on Lake St. Joseph, which has become very ritzy of late. Movie stars like Goldie Hawn have discovered this region of Ontario and now have summer cottages on the Lake. In fact enough stars, like Kurt Russell, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks now vacation here that cruise boats advertise tours past their properties.

So, of course, the local restaurant served crepes for lunch instead of the usual Northern fare.

On the way back to Huntsville, a cold drenched and bedraggled little red fox paused briefly beside the road before disappearing, as if by magic, into the forest.

Back at our suite, where it was dry, and warm, we settled down with a couple of good books.

Remembered our drives in the country. And read the afternoon away.

Warm and cozy. While our coats hung up to dry.

Then spent an hour or so discussing what to do about dinner. We finally decided to go to the interestingly named, Three Guys And A Stove. We'd been driving past it every day and every day the parking lot was filled. And there was no sign of pest control.

We discovered the food was delicious. The perfect way to end our vacation.

And the next morning we found Lindsay had gone to great lengths to make certain we could find our way back home. And back to her.
